I’m pleased to announce the news everyone’s been waiting for: we will be staying at the Roosevelt Hotel.

The Roosevelt Hotel is located at 45 East 45th Street in New York City; just a casual stroll to Time Square. The reservation line will be available by Thursday, March 13. We’ve also received an additional room discount. The single/double rooms were reduced to $219 a night, suites reduced to $439. This is a savings of $10 to $30 per night. Yahoo!
Everyone will need to call into the hotel starting Thursday/Friday, March 13 & 14, to officially reserve their room.(Reservation line 888-833-3969.) Just let them know you will be attending the Writer’s Conference. Calling in allows you more flexibility on reservations dates. Note, you will receive the same room discount two days pre/post conference. Thus, you can reserve your rooms from August 19 thru 26 for the same low rate.
For those authors sharing a room, you may wish to reserve a suite to allow you to host a party for your fans. The suites are amazing and hold at least 30-40 guests. Plus, your bedroom is in a separate area and your guests have their own bathroom to use during your party. As I mentioned to a few authors, you can also take turns hosting a party in your suite.
The Roosevelt Hotel also has a beautiful outdoors lounge as well as several others lounges, a bar, and a restaurant.
The workshop Program Schedule will be posted by this coming weekend so you can plan out the sessions you’d like to attend. Our days will start at 9:00 a.m. and end by 5:30 p.m. You’ll receive an hour and a half for lunch. There are great restaurants in the area. Approximately fifteen in a three block radius of the hotel. You can get a pizza and a coke for $2 to $3 or splurge on a fancy meal. And of course, Starbucks is nearby. We’ll have some information for you on nearby restaurants in your conference welcome packets; as well as some info on local points of interest.
For those coming early, it’s become an unofficial tradition to meet the night before the conference for an informal drink and a meal at a local eatery. If you’re interested in joining me, let me know and I’ll add you to the list.
On a side note: I’m proud to announce that as of Wednesday, March 5, I have officially become the first American Sexologist hired to teach sensual education and self-empowerment to the women of China. I’m so excited and still a little stunned. I never imagined doing such a thing. Soon I’ll take over the world…cue maniacal laughter…oops, sorry, had a Stewie moment there with my “sensual ray gun”. It really is a huge honor and one I look forward to. I’ve even started to learn Chinese. Smiles.
