Newsletter March 23, 2016

Hi everyone,

It’s been an eventful two weeks and I have lots of information to share.

As we get closer to the conference, I want to ensure everyone gets their hotel room. Ensure to book soon before the room block is used up. A little tip for those that have AAA or AARP, you may receive a few extra dollars off by mentioning your affiliation. Remember to drop me a note with your arrival/departure dates and reservation number.

Our workshop platform is available for your perusal. We’ve added a Rope Demo this year. Yes, you may be able to tie up a friend during the workshop so be sure to bring a little rope. I believe De Tails Toys will also offer a basic rope kit for a nominal fee if you need it. We’ll have more on that as we get closer to the conference. http://bdsmwriterscon.com/workshops-2015

As you know, we’re constantly giving away gifts to our registered participants. Last month, Angel won a 4-day/3-night vacation with Caliente Resorts. This St. Patrick’s Day, Michelle won a beautiful set of metal cuffs and a matching collar from Dungeon Delights. We’ll be giving away another set of metal cuffs for those signing up through April 30th.

We’ve begun to receive gifts for participants from publishers and sponsors, including a more vacation giveaways. You’ll be thrilled and surprised at all the fun stuff we’ll have to giveaway—exclusively for conference participants.

For those attending BDSM Writers Con for the first time, we will host a special lunch on Thursday. And if you arrive by 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 19, you’re welcome to join us for our annual “Pre-Conference Kick-Off” Mix & Mingle.

We are creating a special Program Notebook for participants where you can take notes, get authors’ autographs, and have your fellow participants or our awesome speakers fill with comments just for you. We’re done with stuffy old program books that you toss as soon as the conference is over. These Program Notebooks will be treasures to keep for years to come. If you’re interested in advertising in our Program Notebook or wish to share a special thought with participates, please contact us.

A few reminders:

  1. The BDSM Book Contest ends May 1st. Make sure you have your original manuscripts ready and submitted. Winners will receive a book contract from one of our participating publishers. Review our contest page for more info. http://bdsmwriterscon.com/book-contest

Note: two of last year’s winners will be joining us to debut their novels. Be sure to visit with them and help support their dream by purchasing a copy of their book during our Sunday BDSM Book Fair.

  1. If you sign up as a Featured Author, you can submit a new short story of up to 7,000 words for publication consideration in our annual BDSM Writers Con Anthology. We are looking for BDSM light & advanced to dark erotica stories. Submission closes June 1st. All stories must stand alone and be original works.
  1. Our Golden Flogger Award nomination is open till June 1st. Nominate your favorite BDSM author/book published in 2014. All genres are welcome. Help us find non-fiction, paranormal and Dominant women/submissive men stories as we’re having a little trouble finding these in particular. Unlike other contests, the Golden Flogger Award is not a popularity contest. We seek excellence in BDSM writing! This includes credible respectful stories which depict accurate portrayals of the D/s lifestyle with all the juicy sensual parts thrown in. For non-fiction books, we seek authors who make a contribution to the community and/or educate new readers in various areas of the lifestyle.

Don’t forget, if you want a THREESOME—that’s books not people—purchase a any Golden Flogger Award nominee’s book and we’ll send you two more BDSM novels donated by our fabulous Featured Authors absolutely FREE!

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions. Look forward to seeing you in just a few months and sharing even more surprises.

Live with passion,

Dr. Charley Ferrer
