Writing is a pure and creative endeavor. Writers are inspired by their muse to express their deepest emotions in the form of a story—or so we’re led to believe. And then reality hits, and our romantic notions are slapped with the cold, hard truth:  Writing is an analytical sport.

The only truly creative part of writing is the initial idea, that spark you need to start a fire. But it’s not the spark that burns hot, it’s the fuel. We’ll show how each step in the process is bettered by the analytical process to make your story stronger and more marketable.

So pull up your pants, tighten your plots, and come along on this trip from idea to publication. Whether you’re a plotter, a panster, or some hybrid of both, we’ll show you the steps and techniques we’ve used to take an idea through plotting, pacing, editing and publishing.

Presenters:
Lynda Aicher is a multipublished author who loves to write emotionally charged romances. Her novels have been featured in USA Today, Publishers Weekly and RT Book Reviews magazine. She has finaled in the Romance Writers of America’s RITA contest and has won the RT Reviewers’ Choice Award and BDSM Writers Con’s Golden Flogger Award. Prior to becoming an author, she spent years traveling weekly as a consultant implementing computer software into global companies before opting to end her nomadic lifestyle in order to raise her children. Now, her imagination is the only limitation on where she can go, and her writing lets her escape from the daily duties of being a mom, wife, chauffeur, scheduler, cook, teacher, cleaner, and mediator. Jenna Bayley-Burke is a best-selling author of more than twenty romances, a handful of erotica titles, and a whole bunch forgotten to-do lists. She tried to be a dictator, a pimp and a spy, but retail management wasn’t her thing. Now she falls in love with a new guy as often as possible because the world will never have too many book boyfriends. She also writes monogamous erotica (it’s a thing) as Jenna Allen.  www.jennabayleyburke.com www.happilybeddedbliss.com
