Why did you begin writing BDSM novels?
I started writing BDSM novels as I began to explore the lifestyle. My interest in the BDSM lifestyle was peaked by certain books that i read and when I realized there was a ‘name’ for my specific likes in the bedroom, I started researching BDSM more and eventually and slowly got involved in the lifestyle. My writing of BDSM novels came naturally as I aimed to create engaging and informational novels.
Do you participate in D/s activities or merely write about them?
I partake in D/s activities although I hate to admit, not as much as I would like. We are primarily in the bedroom folk :). I am making it a priority to expand this in someway over the next year or so.
What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
The nomination was an amazing feeling. I am nominated in a category where some of the authors are who brought me to this genre, to this lifestyle. I am amazed that a reader felt my book was as good as Cherise Sinclair, Tiffany Reisz or Cecilia Tan.
Do you conduct any advocacy work in this lifestyle or is it strictly fiction base for you? If so, what?
I currently do not do any advocacy work in the lifestyle, being some what new to it, but I am looking for ways to be more active and vocal about the lifestyle and those in it. I think the best thing for this lifestyle is positive press and education.
Where would you like to see the BDSM genre head? How will it get there?
I would love to see more BDSM genre novels hitting the main stream book shelves! I think we can create educational opportunities within our writing that not only inform but entertain readers as well.
What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
Taking the time to write it. I have so many ideas that I rush through them. I have to remind myself that a great piece of work takes time 🙂
