Marie Tuhart
Golden Flogger Award Nominee 2016 speaks out about writing BDSM, attending BDSM Writers Con
and more…

Why did you begin writing BDSM novels?
I began writing about BDSM in 2004. I’d been reading erotic romance for years and decided I wanted to write my book without worrying about the subject matter. I wrote what I wanted to see in a book, plus I do write the lighter side of BDSM

Do you participate in D/s activities or merely write about them?
I participate a little bit, but I write more than I participate.

What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
It is a great honor to be nominated. I work hard at making my novels realistic, yet romantic. I do write erotic romance so I can push the boundaries, but I want people to have a good feeling reading my books.

What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
It really is getting the emotion just right and not going down the rabbit hole when I’m researching. I can spend hours on the internet researching.

I currently live in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State after living in San Francisco most of my life. I have a toy Poodle named Penny who is not only my muse, but she reminds me of when I’ve been sitting behind the computer too long.

Bound & Teased is my current release. I’ve had 8 publishes novels including Bound & Teased. They are all erotic romance all are in e-book formats and some are in print. Alas my first book In Plain Sight is no longer available.

I will have a new novella coming out around Feb. 2016 called Melt My Heart where my heroine has to learn to let go of her control and my hero learns to earn her trust so she can let go.

Will you be attending BDSM Writers Con or other events we can meet you at?
Yes, I’ll be attending the Everett BDSM Writers Con. I’m so thrilled it is coming to the West Coast.

Marie Tuhart can’t remember a time when she didn’t have a book in her hands. When she isn’t reading or writing, Marie loves to spend time in bookstores and traveling. Marie’s muse is her toy poodle, Penny, who lets Marie know when she’s been working too long.

  1. I’m excited to meet you in Everett at writers con! I’m a Washington resident too! I’m writing my first novel and find myself writing on the lighter side as well! That may very well change though once I become more knowledgable. 😉 look forward to meeting you!
