Golden Flogger Award
Nominee
Edge Steele
Speaks out

Why did you begin writing BDSM novels?
This is my first venture in the BDSM writing genre. I had no real idea about BDSM or that FemDom was even a part of it. It just seemed to me to be the naturally normal way a relationship should be. I always felt on some level I was different because of this attitude. I have always been drawn to strong women, but finding a strong woman who was not abusive proved to be a difficult task. Finally however, I have found one, and more importantly she found me. It was her idea to write this book, more of a direction than a request. She stating, “I would like you to write about our relationship.” So, I did with her guidance and approval.

Do you participate in D/s activities or merely write about them?
It is our lifestyle, but on our own terms. I do not think there is any one “correct” way to live this lifestyle. Femdom or a female dominant relationship feels the most normal to both of us. The journey to actually living it took some time and discovery.

Where did you get your information on this lifestyle?
I have no reference material or guide. It is purely instinct, the book is loosely based on our life and relationship.

What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
Hopefully that this work will be of some value to others. It was a difficult thing to write, allowing your most intimate thoughts to come to life on paper. It feels liberating on one hand and frightening on the other. This has been a closely guarded secret for me as a sub male and writer.

Do you conduct any advocacy work in this lifestyle or is it strictly fiction base for you? If so, what?
We do no advocacy work in the area. We feel that it is something you either know and accept or do not.

Where would you like to see the BDSM genre head? How will it get there?
I really have no idea. I guess more accepted and understood would be nice, but i find that highly doubtful.

What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
The single hardest part of this for me was the complete nakedness I felt in disclosing this to the world. She was not at all worried about it and felt very proud of the book and our lifestyle. I however have kept this hidden for a very long time.

Tell us a little about yourself and your writing works.
This is my first venture into this genre. It is an intensely personal and revealing thing to write about. I have written seven other successful books in another genre. They are all best sellers, but obviously under another pen name.

Will you be attending BDSM Writers Con or other events we can meet you at?
It is our intention to attend at this time, however She is exactly as depicted in the book, a professional women, with a demanding career. Our schedule is subject to change based on her needs. I of course follow.new (2)

I have had a long and successful career in Law enforcement, in which I received many awards and decorations. I am intensely private and naturally an introvert. I am unquestionably Her property. To me that means everything and gives me a sense of security and purpose I have never felt. For the first time in my life, I am at peace.
