C.J. Sneere speaks about about writing BDSM
and being nominated for the prestigious
Golden Flogger Award

Where would you like to see the BDSM genre head? How will it get there?
I’m not sure where the BDSM genre will go next. It appears to be breaking out into the mainstream more, which is a good sign. I’d like to see more stigmas about it broken and see it become more and more accepted. As far as getting there, I think the growth of the genre will help it a lot.

What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
It’s great to be nominated. Not something I expected. I’m pleased to see two of my books included. I enjoyed writing both of them very much, and it’s nice to see them recognized.

What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
Dealing with the story going off in a way I hadn’t expected it to. Some of my characters are very stubborn. They dictate the flow of the narrative for me and I have no choice but to follow.

Tell us a little about yourself and your writing works.
I work in business by day and write by night. My day job is boring, so writing is my great escape. It’s my true love. I write gay erotic romance, sometimes with bdsm elements, often with paranormal. Werewolves are one of my favorite topics, and my two nominated stories include shapeshifters.

Will you be attending BDSM Writers Con or other events we can meet you at?
Unfortunately, no. I don’t do much online or offline promotion, I’m afraid. Something I have to work on. However, Anita promotes me and the publishing house, Wild & Lawless Writers, at a lot of online events. If you stop by our website: http://wildlawlesswriters.blogspot.com or subscribe to our newsletter: http://eepurl.com/ba4jiP you’ll receive updates on our events.
