Why did you begin writing BDSM novels?
I loved reading them.  I know quiet a bit about the lifestyle from experience and research.  I haven’t been active in it for over 20 years but I don’t think change to much.  It’s a way of life I enjoyed and I am slowly coming back to and exploring once again.

Do you participate in D/s activities or merely write about them?
I do.  Well, I have started to again.  I am enjoying it once again.  It is something I felt lost without.  I need it to be part of my everyday life.  When I was younger and part of it it wasn’t so much because we frequented the clubs or dungeons, heck I didn’t even know about them back then.  It was more of a way of life for me. A general respect and love for the man I was with and the willingness to explore our every fantasy, he lead and I followed and I gave myself  freely to him.  I learned then I like things that were different from what my other girlfriends enjoyed with their boyfriends.  I liked the feeling of giving him the power to hurt me but the trust he would not take it to a point that I couldn’t come back from. I gave him my submission and he owned me in everyway for a short time, until we forgot the communication part and lost our way. We have reconnected and now we both know more about the lifestyle and he understands exactly what I need and I know what he does and also that communication is the biggest part of this lifestyle without it there is no trust and without trust it is not safe.

Where did you get your information on this lifestyle?
JM Schoder--Jasmine_AmazonFrom actual research and then from experience.  I write a lot of what I know based on my own life experiences.  I try not to pull to much out of thin air.  I like the realness of my stories I like the feelings and emotions they pull from me.

What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
It is amazing.  It means a lot to me.  I did not expect it at all.  I am new to the writing world and very new to the BDSM genre.  I love to write and I love that someone enjoyed my book enough to nominate me.  It makes my heart swell.

Where would you like to see the BDSM genre head? How will it get there?
I
would love to see the BDSM genre head into the direction it is heading.  More mainstream.  But I would love people to educate themselves on the subject before trying it at home.  There are to many things that can go wrong by not having the education and the communication.  People don’t see it as a lifestyle they see it as fun and that is it.  But it is a very emotional relationship you have with your partner/partners and it cannot be taken lightly.  I feel it will get there but it will take time and the weeding out of the ones that portray it in a violent non feeling light.

What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
The hardest thing about writing my novel, well that really depends, first and foremost is the time it needs.  I am a mother of three, full-time student and also work full-time.  So I write in the middle of the night, or when I have a quick break.  I record a lot and then go back and transcribe it.

Second thing that is hard is the emotions that come to play when I write.  I take from my own life experiences and some of them just about kill me. The book I am working on now is really close to my heart and it so far is the most difficult to write.  I keep trying to scale back the emotion but it really has to be there so I cry a lot and get very mad at times as I write.

Third thing that makes it difficult is that I’m a perfectionist with ADHD so at this very moment I am writing 8 different books, with very different people in them.  And keeping them all straight is about to burst my mind.

Will you  be attending BDSM Writers Con 2016 or other events we can meet you at?
I have registered for it and I am hoping I actually can make it.  It is a touch and go thing right now.  I plan on it but life has a way of getting in my way.
