Lainie Suzanne is  nominated for our prestigious Golden Flogger Award 2017 Check out what she has to say about writing BDSM and loving what she does

Why did you begin writing BDSM novels?
I’ve always had stories that played around in my head. During quiet, daydreaming moments, the stories would elaborate in my mind. I LOVE to read erotic romance. My husband encouraged me to write my stories for others to enjoy.

Do you participate in D/s activities or merely write about them?
My husband/Sir and I share a wonderful life in D/s activities. I have a natural submissive and servitude quality in regards to my Sir, not so much in some aspects of my life. I refer to myself as an ‘Alpha Sub’.

Where did you get your information on this lifestyle?
We’ve done lots of research; online, educational events, and books. We decide together what’s best for us and how we can work it into our life.

What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
It is an honor to be nominated for the Golden Flogger Award. As a relatively new author, it provides a launching pad for my books, exposure to a new audience. Many of my favorite books have been nominated in the past, as well as this year. It’s surreal that my book is considered among the best in this genre. I’m truly humbled.

What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
The hardest part for me is finding quiet time to write. I work full-time, so time is limited already. I write best in silence, unless I’m using music for a scene and that’s sometimes difficult around my house.

As an indie writer, promotion is the very hardest part. There are so many great books, BDSM Writers Con, Lainie Suzanne, bondage, kink getting yours noticed is quite difficult.

Tell us a little about yourself:
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I currently live in North Carolina with my husband, my best friend, the love of my life. We have four grown children, who have all flown the nest.

I love reading Erotic Romance, but often found myself unable to relate to the characters. I wanted to read about a heroine I could relate to and thought other women would too. The heroine in Nexus, Katherine, is in her mid-forties, divorced, curvaceous, insecure, sassy, and feels self-conscious about her body. Things many women can relate to. I like to say I write Realistic Erotic Romance.

I’ve always had a love affair with vampires, so I decided to merge eroticism and vampirism and my novella, Blood Moon was born.

I never thought of myself as a writer, and honestly I still don’t. I have stories and characters in my head that I want to know more about and see what kind of wicked kinkery they can get into along the way. My characters mean a lot to me; they’re part of me.

When I’m not writing or reading…I’m listening to music. I love music! I have an eclectic taste of music. Rock, Pop, Country, R&B, Hip Hop, New Age, Big Band, Classical… There’s a strong connection between music and my writing. Each of my books have a playlist.

I have a fascination and love of history. We include a little history research in all our travels. I’m a huge sports fan. Collegiate sports are my favorites, along with professional football and baseball.

Three words that best describe me: Strong-willed, Loyal, Patriotic
