Golden Flogger Award Nominee 2016
Silk and Decadence
Over the Knee Anthology
Why did you begin writing BDSM novels?
I started writing BDSM novels because the characters demanded it. I follow my characters and write what they need. That’s one of the exciting things about being an author. I can go places I might not go otherwise—like other worlds—and get into the heads of characters that are fantastic and fun. I started writing softer BDSM, but as the characters got more inquisitive, I followed their lead. It’s been a great ride.
What does being nominated for the Golden Flogger Award mean to you?
This is an honor and a humbling experience. It’s truly exciting, but it’s humbling. I love when readers tell me they enjoy my work and to be nominated for an award… I’m speechless. I’ve tried to write true-to-life characters in the BDSM world and I’m humbled to know my work has been recognized for this great award.
Where would you like to see the BDSM genre head? How will it get there?
I’d like to see the BDSM genre stay realistic. I like reading about couples that find they’re compatible in the playroom and the rest of the world. How will it get there? I think it’s already there, but if more authors continue to write genuine stories with developed characters, it will be great for the genre.
What is the hardest part of writing your novel?
The hardest part of writing my BDSM work is making sure the emotions within the stories are true to life and are genuine. I try to get into the head of the character and show how the character is feeling within the play situation, but I worry sometimes that I could get more into the emotions involved.
Tell us a little about yourself and your writing works.
I’m a simple girl. I love writing characters that get a happy ending. It’s fun to play in other worlds and to be other people through my work. I love the color blue and pretty much anything Gary Allan has recorded. I’m a mom, pet wrangler and cat herder.
I write about second chance romances that span the spectrum from sweet to white hot. Any pairing and with or without kink, I’ve probably got a book that fits the bill.
Will you be attending BDSM Writers Con or other events we can meet you at?
Unfortunately I’m unable to make it. I’ll be at The Lori Foster Reader and Author Event in Cincinnati, Ohio in June of 2016 as well as the Glass City Author Event in Toledo, Ohio in October 2016.
A little about Wendi Zwaduk:
I always dreamed of writing the stories in my head. Tall, dark, and handsome heroes are my favourites, as long as he has an independent woman keeping him in line.
I earned a BA in education at Kent State University and currently hold a Masters in Education with Nova Southeastern University.
I love NASCAR, romance, books in general, Ohio farmland, dirt racing, and my menagerie of animals.
