If you’re a writer, you won’t want to miss this workshop with Lise Horton.
We’ve all read those stories where the characters are brought to life on the page by the author. When you feel as if you know a character, feel their emotions viscerally, understand how they think. That is an author who has mastered characterization.
To enable your protagonists to seduce your reader and convince them to join their kinky journey, you must have complex, human, and distinct characters. You want protagonists who create a rich pairing, not a vanilla sameness. You need diverse secondary characters who serve the many roles, from mentor to adversary, yet who are distinct from your protagonists, and one another. Your goal is to create characters who can touch your readers. Characters who seduce a reader. Characters a reader can rail against. Characters they can fall in love with.
And the secret to successful characterization is the intelligent and savvy use of dialogue, and development of dynamic character voice.
Part I: Dialogue – A Cornerstone of Character
Part II: Characterization & Voice – Breathing Life Into Your Kinky Characters & Developing Seductive “Voices” To Enthrall Your Reader
Part III: A Kinky Writer’s Toy Box – The Tools That Bind & A Method For Wielding Them
This workshop is geared toward authors writing BDSM; however, everyone is welcome to attend, especially if you’re “thinking” about writing BDSM novels.
